Body off for floor repairs and full restoration.

Looks nice finished.

Sometimes you think you can do a quick patch.

This was the area under the battery.

But as you try to weld the metal is too thin.  No matter how you adjust the welder you just keep blowing holes.

So you just have to keep cutting bigger and bigger hoping the metal will be good enough.

But I finally gave up and ordered a “pan half” for this one.  Didn’t need the 2nd one.

I had wasted 4 hours trying small patch though.

Some cutting and I ended up with this hole.

Tacked into place.

And welded up.  After some grinding on top and bottom it was nice.

If you catch these repairs early then you dont need to spend massive amount of money.  If you repair the rust before it spreads you can extend the life.  Holes that allow in water make rust spread much faster.
